The Lower School Fine Arts Program
NBPS offers a vibrant fine arts education that fosters curiosity in, and sensitivity to, the world which surrounds us. We strive to prepare our fine and performing artists to be creative critical thinkers, through outstanding, sequential learning opportunities from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. We encourage exploration of values, attitudes, self discipline and standards through exploration of arts.
We work to create an interdisciplinary, intercultural and creative community which is acutely aware of the need to give back. The fine and performing arts student is guided to enrich the varied communities served by the fine arts by stimulating the cultural climate, providing quality opportunities to display talent, fulfill charitable needs and above all positively influence the lives of others through sharing their time and talents.
The Lower School offers school day instruction in the areas of general music (PK-K), violin (grades 1-3), art, and dance. At the upper elementary level, grades 4 and 5, our students may elect Band, Choir, or Orchestra as a course of study. In addition to the curriculum offered during the school day, we offer students the opportunity to participate in theatre through our after school lower school musical productions.
